Nurse-trainees to be deployed in Pampanga communities

Seventy registered nurse-trainees will be deployed to different rural communities in the province through the Nurses Assigned in Rural Services (NARS) project of the Arroyo administration.
The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office said that these 70 nurse-trainees were part of the 235 trainees earlier chosen from the 45 municipalities all over the region.
Governor Eddie Panlilio, together with DOLE and Public Employment Services Office (PESO) officials, led the distribution of NARS kits to the 70 nurse-trainees, who came from Apalit, Floridablanca, Guagua, Lubao, Macabebe, Minalin, Porac, Sasmuan, San Simon, Sta. Ana, Sta. Rita and Sto. Tomas municipalities.
Panlilio said the NARS program is a training cum deployment project designed to mobilize nurses in the poorest municipalities as well as affected areas brought about by Ondoy and Pepeng .
The program aims to improve the delivery of health care services and create a pool of registered nurses with enhanced clinical and preventive health management competencies, he said.
The training under the NARS program will be considered as a substitute for the requisite work experience mandated by hospitals and other health facilities both here and abroad.
