By Samuel Medenilla/mb.com.ph – Thirty Filipino nurses are now working in hospitals in Germany after successfully complying with the requirements of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration’s (POEA) Triple Win Project (TWP).
Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz disclosed the workers were able to successfully pass the German recognition exam, the Gesundheits-und Krankenpflegerin, as part of the qualifications for the TWP.
“This is a positive development. The 30 Filipino nurses successfully passed Germany’s official state examination for nurses under the Triple Win Project of the Philippines and Germany,” Baldoz said.
She said they expect more nurses to be hired in Germany since there are currently 70 more Filipino nurses undergoing language training, who will soon take the German recognition exam.
“114 others either waiting for language training, looking for an employer, or awaiting deployment,” Baldoz said.
The TWP was implemented by POEA in 2013 after signing a bilateral agreement with Germany.
Furthermore, Baldoz said the recent decision of the POEA to allow the entry of private recruitment agencies in the German market will also raise the number of Filipino nurses in the European country.
Under its Governing Board Resolution No. 4, Series of 2016, POEA allowed the participation of private recruitment agencies in the recruitment, deployment, and employment of Filipino nurses to Germany.
“This paves the way for the immediate hiring and deployment of nurses to Germany outside of the Triple Win Project,” Baldoz said.
The 30 TWP participant were Carl Sydney Aquas, Placido Composa III, Eowyn Galvez, Vanessa Aileen Preclaro, Krystel Anne Sumido, Ellen Grace Dollaga, Anthony Calvin Katada, Harvey Macaroy, Raymond Mabanta, Cyril Revilla, Reyzlie Sinayen, Katherine Joy Uy, Luther Basa, Jane Buo, Mark Joseph Briones, Jimmy Carpon, Roselyn Ching, Ludeview Bless Dagmil, Joan Gallo, Mark Gantala, Jenny Ann Lorilla, Nikki Mortega, Ian Rizon, Leizel Anne Quisay, Rachelle Hope Commandante, Marissa Molina, Sheena Morata, Madelle Salmon, April DynQuisay, and Janice Villaruz.
